I need a reason to create as a human being. Rough and impulsive beauty and passion, that’s what I learned in the street/club culture during my youth. In Japan, there is a custom of Hanami (cherry blossom viewing) during the cherry blossom season. This tea was created to enjoy the season of Hanami with its fragrance and taste. Toshiki Okada created the package with a landscape to complement the cherry blossom and night cherry blossom flavors. He added hand-painted watercolors to the simple artwork to create a mix of modern and traditional designs.

Tokinone is a new and nostalgic product that adds buttercream and flavors such as fruit and green tea to Dorayaki, a traditional Japanese pastry made by sandwiching bean paste between pancakes. Toshiki Okada created fun patterns with colors representing the seven flavors and also applied random shapes which are expressing the fluffy texture. And he designed colors and shapes that give a sense of both new and old, Japanese and Western to revive this traditional confectionery handed down from long ago as a new local specialty of the modern age.
